Teach Plus

We are proud to have a team of Teach Plus teachers and a Teach Plus Senior Fellow in our Magnet (Ms. Chatzipantsios featured below). 

 

Teach Plus is “a highly selective, rigorous program for teachers who want to deepen their knowledge in education policy and have a voice in the decisions that affect their students and the profession. The program offers excellent teachers the opportunity to expand their influence without leaving the classroom.”

 

Ms. Chatzipantsios is Teach Plus Senior Fellow who authored and published A Hierarchy of Educators' Needs: A Guide for Fostering Empathetic Schools. Her work revolves around meeting with state leaders and politicians in Sacramento, and the California Department of Education, director of the Whole Child Division, as well as LAUSD leaders as part of creating a more positive impact on teachers across the state of California.

 

Teach Plus teachers “receive extensive training on topics such as policy, advocacy, and storytelling” and “engage directly with key education stakeholders and policy makers, shaping and advocating for policies that meet the needs of their students.”
