EcoSoap to New York NationalsNightingale is the first middle school to advance to the New York Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge National Finals 2 years in a row!! These annual business competitions are historically comprised of high school students.
Faye and Sunny created EcoSoap, and organic, water soluble soap and shampoo combo pod that eliminates the use of paper or plastic packaging. The duo became Ernst & Young Entrepreneurs of the Year, earning a $5,000.00 scholarship, total earnings of $7,500.00. Faye & Sunny made it to the top 12 out of 34, 840 students nationwide and were invited by NFTE to speak during a LAUSD Board Members meeting.

Nightingale stars, Sara Anselmo and Jennifer Barreto, were flown to Atlanta, Georgia to compete in the Operation Hope Global Forum. Their business plan, PUP, earned 3rd place, trailing 2nd place high school winners, Teresa Xiao and Phi Phi Dinh––both former Nightingale students! Sara and Jennifer created a product for dog owners, a product that not only includes a biodegradable bag, but also a spray solution that helps accelerate decomposition when walking the dog. |
