happy new Nighthawks this is your pal principal Miss Haley and I just want to wish you all a Happy New Year and I hope that you had a wonderful and restful winter recess and that you and your family are healthy and safe please know that the staff and I didn't get a truly misses you and we're looking forward to seeing you all in class on Tuesday January 12th again the first day of class for the spring semester will be Tuesday January the following video was recorded prior to Winter recess and in the video I announce the winners from our November meeting greet assembly I also announced the winners from the 8th grade voice applications so sit back relax and enjoy this announcement of the winners take care and I'm looking forward to seeing you all next week hello Nighthawks this is your proud principal Miss Haley I wanted to stop by and spread a little holiday cheer see I have on my ugly holiday sweater shout out to ASP leadership in Mississippi thanks for putting this spirit week together we appreciate all that you do and we are looking forward to some fun activities that you have planned for us in the spring semester so students I just want to take this time to thank each and everyone of you for the work that you've done over the semester I know that this was a challenging year that's been a challenging semester with everything being online Lottery you stuck with it you tried your best and now it's time to finish strong so that you can celebrate some time with your family and loved ones. Some of us may not got in the grace that we wanted we may have had other challenges in our lives that made being alert and focused and present in class a little challenging for us for those of you out there may have failed the class or a few classes know that your teachers are working very hard right now to create an opportunity for you to bring up some of those fails during the winter break if you receive any trails at the 20-week report card that will be out soon please make sure you are staying connected to your schoology email your teachers will be sending you an email very soon with important information on what you can do to bring up your grade during the winter holiday so please stay tuned for that I want to all of my students who made find themselves in this situation to take advantage Opera I'll be opportunity to bring up those grades I'm counting on you I believe in you I know you can do it we want to help you be prepared for next semester I also want to take an opportunity all of the teachers and staff here at Nightingale who has have worked tirelessly this semester to put together lessons and to provide support for our students while taking care of their own families as well you are mean the world to me I'm so grateful to be a part of the Nightingale family and I just again from the bottom of my heart want to thank you for all of your hard work this semester so now when I had the assembly to introduce myself to everyone we had some trivia questions and I selected we selected some winners from those trivia questions and today we're going to take a moment to announce our winners so I'm going to share my screen so our first trivia question during the assembly was what year did Miss Haley graduate from middle school so graduated from La Tijera School located in Inglewood California in 1987 again 1987 was the year that I graduated from middle school parents probably weren't even born in 1987 with that are winners for this trivia question we have yotsume Gonzalez Andy who go him Anaya Henderson and Kevin Sanchez thank you all for participating and you will receive a gift card in the mail to treat yourself to some lunch next I asked you to share your top five rappers I shared my type 5 and then I asked you to share your top 5 and we have two winners we are sixth grader Kevin Sanchez who listed his top five as number five being Drake number for Travis Scott I've heard of Travis Scott numbers free is post Malone number 2 is 10 xxtentacion and number one being juice wrld congratulations Kevin and I are next winner of the top 5 contest was meline Herrera loud my male enlisted her top five coming in at number five is Little Wayne coming in at number for we have Childish Gambino coming in at number 3 we have ice cube number to Snoop Dogg and mailings number one top rapper Tupac Shakur thank you for everyone who participated 7 ml see my gift card in the mail and our final contest was for our 8th graders 8th graders were asked to have their families complete the zone of choice Rotation by Friday November 20th and in this cup have the name students of eight grade students to submit there's not a choice application by Friday November 20th so if you completed that's on the choice your name is in this cup and I'm going to pull Styx name the first five names that I pull will also receive gift card and a last name that I pull will receive the grand prize which will be a set-up so let's get to it first winner we have Camilla Reyes 8th grader Camilla congratulations next we have Ryan Medina congratulations Ryan Medina our next gift card winner we have ha cambeiro Hector cambeiro congratulation text her our next winter is Vianney Reyes Vianney Reyes congratulation in our last winner of a gift card is Emily done Emily's done congratulations now the person who bill will receive a set of airpods in the mail Tuan khi Guan Shan ki-wan is our winner of the airpods congratulations it's not too late to get that zone of choice application in 8th graders we still need it it's still very important for deciding which high school you're going to get go to so please be on the lookout in the mail for those on the trace applications so that you can fill it out with your family and submitted back to us here at the school site and with that I want to wish you all a wonderful and restful holiday stay healthy stay safe and I forward to seeing you all in the new year take care and have a wonderful day
